Video Surveillance

The majority of businesses now have high-speed, IP based networks connected to the Internet. Adding a network video system simply utilizes and extends the same infrastructure to include video functionality while leaving room for scalability. Standard IT equipment, like switches and PC servers, are used for video recording and storage. Because of this, existing investments in IT infrastructure can be leveraged to help keep costs at a minimum

Network Cameras

Nuagesight offers an array of network cameras, for use in a variety of applications. All of these cameras operate over an IP network, and are powered by the same single wire that provides the data link between the camera and the network. (PoE or Power over Ethernet)

Fixed cameras mean viewing direction is set once mounted. Field of view can be changed by physically adjusting the camera. A fixed dome allows for discreetness, as it is difficult to tell where the camera is pointed. A fixed network camera has a more traditional look, and is designed to act as more of a deterrent. Both are available for indoor and outdoor application, as well as with vandal resistant housing.

This type of camera enables a wide area coverage and great details when zooming in. The camera’s movement can be easily controlled by an operator, or it can be run in guard tour mode, where the camera automatically moves between preset positions. PTZ dome network cameras are available in outdoor-ready models for easy and reliable installation in tough environments.

A thermal network camera creates images based on the heat that always radiates from any object, vehicle or person. The cameras see through complete darkness and deliver images that allow operators to detect and act on suspicious activity around the clock in all conditions.

On the road? No Problem!
You can still check in on your home!

Network cameras and video encoders can be configured and accessed remotely, enabling multiple authorized users to view live and recorded video at any time and from virtually any networked location in the world. You can be sitting on the beach and quickly take a look at your cameras at home! Sometimes, when you are away from the office or home you would rather someone else take care of checking in for you, remote accessibility allows for a third-party company, such as our Monitoring Central, to also access the video feed. Traditionally, analog system users would need to be at a specific on-site monitoring location to view and manage video.

Not anymore!

Our IP video surveillance systems make viewing your live video feeds, as well as recorded footage, a simple task from anywhere, at any time. As long as your network has an Internet connection, your system can be securely available to you from any web browser, smartphone, or tablet.

Video Encoders

Nuagesight specializes in IP Video Surveillance, however often times, our clients have previously made a significant investment into an existing analog video surveillance system. In a case like this, a video encoder will allow you to keep your existing analog cameras, while transitioning to an IP system. The encoder acts as a bridge between the camera and your network, converting the analog video signal into a digital stream giving you the ability to integrate your old system into your new one.

High image quality

Imagine trying to watch a movie and pick out fine details when the movie itself is blurry, out of focus or low quality…you’ll never run into that problem with Nuagesight.

In video surveillance, high image quality is essential to be able to clearly capture an event and identify persons or objects involved. With progressive scan and megapixel technologies, a network camera can deliver better image quality and higher resolution than an analog camera.

Image quality can also be more easily retained in a network video system than in an analog surveillance system. Captured images are degraded with every conversion between analog and digital formats and with the cabling distance. The further the analog video signals have to travel, the weaker they become.

In a fully digital IP-Surveillance system, images from a network camera are digitized once and they stay digital with no unnecessary conversions and no image degradation due to distance traveled over a network. Also, digital images can be more easily stored and retrieved.
